Drummond Carpenter is seeking a mid- to senior-level Project Manager/Professional Engineer to support and grow our presence in Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania. This strategic leadership role is for an experienced professional who has strong familiarity with the local market; established client and consultant relationships; and the ability to own project delivery and regional growth.
This role blends project management, client leadership, and business development responsibilities in a true sell/manage/do capacity. The successful candidate will build on an existing portfolio of work; strengthen relationships with regional clients and teaming partners; identify and pursue new opportunities; and establish Drummond Carpenter as a locally engaged, long-term partner in the Pennsylvania market.

Key responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Serve as Project Manager for municipal and infrastructure projects in western Pennsylvania, with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction
- Serve as a local point of contact and relationship owner for clients and consulting partners
- Maintain and expand existing relationships while identifying and pursuing new project opportunities
- Support and lead proposal development activities
- Coordinate internal technical resources and ensure effective delivery across disciplines and offices
- Support construction-phase services and coordination as required by project needs
- Contribute to recruiting, mentoring, and staff development of the Pennsylvania practice
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related discipline
- 10 or more years of relevant experience in municipal, water, wastewater, stormwater, or infrastructure engineering
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects and managing client relationships in the Pittsburgh/western Pennsylvania market
- Established relationships with municipal clients, utilities, authorities, and/or consulting firms in the region
- Proven ability to balance project delivery and business development responsibilities
- Working knowledge of municipal contracting processes and consultant teaming structures
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to operate independently while coordinating closely with firm leadership and technical staff
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Preferred qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Pennsylvania
Work environment and travel
- Hybrid work arrangement based out of Drummond Carpenter’s Pennsylvania office, with a remote work arrangement available
- Travel throughout western Pennsylvania and surrounding areas as required to support projects, clients, and business development activities
