As the firm celebrates its tenth anniversary, the employee-driven honor marks another milestone in a decade of growth.
As Drummond Carpenter marks 10 years in business, the firm has been named one of Florida’s Best Companies to Work For, an annual program presented by Florida Trend and Workforce Research Group. The award is based on an independent evaluation of workplace practices and confidential employee feedback.
Over the past decade, Drummond Carpenter has grown from a small engineering practice into an engineering and environmental consulting firm supporting clients across the country. Federal agencies, state and local governments, utilities, and private organizations rely on the firm to solve complex environmental and infrastructure challenges through the integration of engineering, science, and data intelligence.
The work has evolved alongside the company.
Today, Drummond Carpenter leads impactful work that makes cities and counties more resilient to flooding, restores polluted rivers, lakes, springs, and shorelines, and rebuilds our nation’s aging critical federal facilities. Many of those efforts unfold over years, bringing together engineers, scientists, geologists, and data specialists as projects evolve.
Continuity matters. Clients work with teams that stay engaged, building technical understanding and institutional knowledge that lead to better decisions over time.
Around the office, there’s an unofficial saying: “Cool people. Cool projects.”
“We’ve always joked about that phrase,” said Chad Drummond, founder and president. “But there’s a lot of truth behind it. Interesting work attracts curious people. That’s been true from the beginning, and it’s something we’ve been fortunate to hold onto as we’ve grown. This recognition belongs to the team.”
Last year, Chad was named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s State of Florida and North Florida District Veteran-Owned Small Business Person of the Year, recognizing the company’s growth and impact as a service-disabled veteran-owned business.
As Drummond Carpenter begins its second decade, the focus remains the same: helping clients solve difficult engineering and environmental challenges while continuing to build a company where talented people want to do meaningful work.
